Stairlift Seatbelt Modification
I am requesting that the seatbelt on my stairlift be disabled or that a non-immobiliser seatbelt be fitted instead of the standard safety seatbelt.
I understand and acknowledge the following:
- The seatbelt is a safety feature designed to prevent falls and injury during stairlift operation
- By disabling or using a non-immobiliser seatbelt, the stairlift will be operable without the seatbelt being engaged
- I must ensure that any non-immobiliser seatbelt is securely fastened before using the stairlift on every occasion
- Where a non-immobiliser seatbelt is provided, the stairlift will be CE marked to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, but will not be compliant with EN81-40
- I am responsible for ensuring the seatbelt is properly secured before each use
- The company will not be held liable for any injury or accident resulting from the seatbelt being disabled or not properly fastened
