Weekly Vehicle Checklist

Reminder: Your Responsibility for Vehicle Safety

Before every journey, it is your legal obligation and responsibility to ensure that your vehicle is safe to drive. Please thoroughly check your vehicle as per the checklist provided. If you identify any defects or issues—especially those with potential safety or legal implications—you must ensure these are resolved before driving. Do not drive if your vehicle is unsafe or unroadworthy.

Remember:
By reporting and resolving issues promptly, you help protect yourself, your colleagues, and all road users. Safe driving starts with you.

Keeping the Van Clean

Just a quick reminder — as the driver, keeping the exterior clean and presentable is your responsibility. We used to offer a Saturday morning clean at TPG, but as more drivers started taking vans home this became unworkable, so we've had to stop. It's a small ask — just make sure it looks the part when you're out representing TPG Disable Aids Ltd.

Thanks for keeping on top of it.

Personal Use of the Van

Taking your van home is a perk we're happy to offer. It's worth knowing that HMRC — not TPG — sets the rules on what counts as acceptable private use, and it's worth taking a few minutes to understand them. The link below explains it clearly and could save you an unexpected tax bill should HMRC prove otherwise.

Take a look at the HMRC guidelines — it's a quick read and well worth it
