TPG Disable Aids are pleased to announce that Alex Browne, our Service Operations Manager, has just successfully completed the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management including a theoretical Level 5 Diploma and skill based Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Alex was supported at TPG during the last 18 months to achieve this qualification, by applying recognised Management and Leadership models to provide strategic leadership as well as day-to-day management.

TPG DisableAids Named BHTA Retailer of the Year

TPG DisableAids Ltd are very pleased to announce they have received the prestigious award of Retailer of the Year from the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) in a gala ceremony at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on 30th November 2017.

The award is recognition from suppliers to the industry that recognises the skills and professionalism of the company.

One supplier commented: “I have been impressed with their customer focused attitude and approach to business. Here at TPG DIsableAids we care for our customers health and safety. We ensure that we always have members of staff with first aid training on hand in the unlikely event of an accident occurring. To further this goal we have just finished training our latest group of employees in Emergency First Aid at Work.

TPG DisableAids is one of the first companies in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Certificate of Excellence by Stannah. A scheme organised by Stannah to ensure that engineers follow the excellence quality standards set by themselves. Not all companies meet the requirements, however we are committed to ensuring exceptional service and that your stairlift is installed by a professional engineer. The award recognises TPG for it’s commitment towards quality engineering in installations, servicing and repairs of their product range.

Training:

As part of the process of attaining the certificate, all Stannah engineers must undergo extensive training and assessment to ensure all work meets the industry leading Stannah standards. Engineers are routinely assessed by Stannah on routine servicing, repairs and installation processes to ensure engineers are following best practices. Receiving this award acts as an endorsement for TPG engineers that they’re always professional, knowledgeable and complete the job to ‘excellence’ standards. Training includes best practices for the installation process, fault finding and servicing to ensure engineers are versed with essential skills for caring for the Stannah line of products.

Regular Assessment of Engineers:

Rather than a single assessment, to retain the integrity of the award, engineers are continually assessed to maintain the high standards that are associated with the Stannah name, assessment certifies product fluency in all Stannah models and specifically in the installation process, to ensure engineers are well versed; avoiding unwelcome surprises. At TPG we ensure we deliver excellent service when selling, distributing or servicing any of our products and we are pleased to announce that our efforts of our engineering team have been certified by the industry-leader.

Ongoing Audits:

Ensuring ongoing confidence, Stannah routinely visit us and audit our staff and procedures this ensures that the award retains it’s integrity and we’re always working at the same high standard that we were when attaining the award. We work together with Stannah to raise standards and ensure customers get the very best service we can deliver.

This training is designed by the manufacturer to refresh their knowledge to service and maintain the Oxford range of patient lifters and hoists to manufacturers & LOLER standard.

Phil and Liam Training

Engineers pass exciting new disability product training

We’re always on the lookout for innovation at TPG, we have 2 engineers (Phil Jones and Liam Callanan) who have recently passed training and received manufacturer accreditation for an exciting new product; Thyssen Supra Linea Lift, allowing us to supply and maintain wheelchair lifts for both internal and external use. With exceptional safety features and proven reliability the Supra is an excellent addition to our product range. With a Dedicated Service Department, breakdown recovery and maintenance we can offer you piece of mind should anything go wrong.

With over 200 years experience award winning mobility company Thyssen provides a range of innovative mobility aiding products with proven reliability and safety, of which we stock a range of Thyssen products at TPG.

As mentioned before TPG utilise the modern apprenticeship scheme to invest in future talent. This talent is nurtured through continuous training and development, Connor and Lewis have taken part in Reval bathing, Handicare stair lift and Guldmann hoists, meaning they’re now authorised by the manufacturer to service and maintain the range of products.

Established engineers successfully completed extensive Home Adapt and Reval Bathing training

Some of our experienced engineers have completed extensive manufacturer training on Home Adapt stair lifts, Reval Bathing and Oxford hoists to further develop themselves as all-round engineers. Training on mobile hoist maintenance and inspection has been completed to LOLER standard by Steve Worth adding to his already extensive experience in stairlifts, vertical lifts and mobility scooters. Clive Taylor-Edwards completed courses in Guldmann hoists and Reval bathing systems, adding to his knowledge as a well-rounded knowledgeable engineer. Also Steve James completed Flow and Home Adapt courses to add to his existing stair lift knowledge.
